If you’re looking to learn about different essential oils, then you’re in the right place! Read below to find out more about Lemongrass essential oil and its many wonders.

Lemongrass
Found in India, Cymbopogon flexuosus is steam distilled to produce an essential oil that’s fresh, earthy, and lemony. This top/middle note oil blends well with Cedarwood, Lavender, Lemon, Marjoram, Pine, Rosemary, and Thyme.

Need a mental or emotional boost? Lemongrass is a wonder for lifting energy, combatting exhaustion, and promoting relaxed emotions. Combine with Rosemary in an inhaler or diffuser to enjoy these amazing effects. You can use it in homemade room cleaners to get rid of bacteria and fungus, while leaving behind a lovely aroma. Using Lemongrass in a diffuser has the added benefit of warding off insects.

When applied topically, Lemongrass can minimize unpleasant aromas by fighting odor-causing bacteria. Add it to a carrier oil like Coconut Oil and apply to the feet to help with Athlete’s Feet or use in homemade deodorant with other essential oils like Lavender or Patchouli. Add it to facial toner to help minimize the appearance of minor breakouts and acne scarring, as it’s packed with vitamins A and E.

Enjoy your favorite dishes with a dash of cholesterol-fighting deliciousness by adding a drop of Lemongrass (particularly lovely in Thai food). Humans aren’t the only ones who can use this oil—it can be applied topically in high dilution to dogs and horses (it’s particularly great to fight fleas)!
