Ginger
This essential oil is produced through steam distillation from the root of Zingiber officinale and has an aroma that is warm, spicy and earthy. A middle/base note oil, Ginger blends well with Cajeput, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus, Frankincense, Geranium, Orange, and Verbena.
Not just a digestive wonder, Ginger can be used for many different ailments. In addition to helping relieve mild nausea and motion sickness, this oil can help with muscle cramping and pain as well. To enjoy the soothing effects, combine with a carrier oil and oils like Lavender or Peppermint, and massage gently into the abdomen and/or behind the ears. This application is particularly beneficial for hangover relief. You can also enjoy pre-formulated blends like In-Motion for nausea and motion sickness, or Tummy Ease for mild indigestion and heartburn. Ginger can also be used to aid weight loss by curbing sugar cravings. Or you can combine with Marjoram and Peppermint to create a blend to ease minor headaches, simply combine with Apricot Oil and apply to the temples and back of the neck.
