If you’re looking to learn about different essential oils, then you’re in the right place! Read below to find out more about Peppermint essential oil and its many wonders.

Peppermint
The whole plant of Mentha piperita is steam distilled to produce an essential oil that’s robust, refreshing, and herbaceous in aroma. This top note oil blends well with Basil, Bergamot, Cajeput, Cedarwood, Eucalyptus, Lemon, Lime, Mandarin, Marjoram, Niaouli, Pine Needle, Rosemary, Spearmint, and Thyme.

An oil that often gets associated with the holiday season, Peppermint can be used all year long for an assortment of reasons. One of my favorite ways to use this oil is to ease headaches and focus the mind. Benefit from the soothing properties of this oil by diluting it with a carrier oil and adding to a roll-on bottle before applying to the temples as needed. When used throughout the day, this can have the added touch of helping keep you alert and on task as it’s an energizing oil that has also been shown to help people with ADD and ADHD. You can add a drop of Concentration Blend to a diffuser as well to enjoy these effects as well.

Peppermint’s soothing properties extend beyond the head to the whole body. This oil contains Menthol, which helps ease muscle discomfort and tension. Muscle Ice Blend can be added to massage blends or used in more fun ways like soaks with Bath Salts or Bath Bombs. When diluted by itself, this essential oil can be used to soothe sensitive skin and smooth out dry or sensitive skin, making it good for use in facial toners when highly diluted. During the summer months, Peppermint can be used to relieve pain and itching associated with minor sunburns.

Perhaps one reason why Peppermint is so readily used during the winter months is its powers in helping the respiratory system. This oil can help ease breathing and clear bronchial passageways and the lungs. Supercharge this by trying Peppermint combined with other oils that fight off germs (like Easy Breathzy Blend, which also contains Cajeput and Eucalyptus). When fighting cold germs, it’s important to be diligent, which is why we’ve created several products with Peppermint that allow you to support a healthy immune system from your morning shower or bath to your daily commute to when you rest your head on your pillow.
