Bugs, bugs, bugs… They’re the only reason I don’t take more hikes. Well, at least that’s the excuse I like to use!
During the summer months, it seems like mosquitos, fleas and ticks are just as excited as our kids to be out and about, so it’s up to us to find ways to keep the whole family safe.
There are many ways to combat these little guys from morning till night. If you’re looking for a way to prepare from the moment you wake, just add Bug Away Herbal Soap to your shower time regimen. This soap will not only wake you up with its light and energizing aroma, but will also penetrate your skin with properties that ward off unwanted pests (and I’m not talking about the kids). Throughout the day and night you can use my Melties or Candles at home or by the campfire to create a bug-free zone. If you’re on the go and can’t carry a candle or diffuser with you, I recommend using either my Roll-Ons or Spritz, or making your own version with the recipe below. All of these concoctions contain Citronella, which among many other things, is one of your greatest weapons against mosquitos, fleas and lice.

Can this recipe or the bug off oil be used on dogs?
Hi Don! Yes, they both can be used on dogs. I would recommend, however, that you use more water so that it’s more diluted. This is especially important for smaller dogs. Also make sure to keep it out of their eyes when applying. Let me know how it works!
Thank you for sharing! I love using your essential oils to incorporate into my herbal bath and body products I sell on Etsy!
