If you’re looking to learn about different essential oils, then you’re in the right place! Read below to find out more about Patchouli essential oil and its many wonders.
Patchouli
Steam distilled from Pogostemon cablin, Patchouli essential oil has rich, smoky, and woody aroma. This middle note oil blends well with Bergamot, Cassia, Cedarwood, Myrrh, Orange, and Rose.
With one of the most recognizable names around, Patchouli is probably the essential oil that elicits the strongest opinions due to its association with the hippie movement of the 60s and 70s as a fragrance. But this oil is so much more than that! Its deep and earthy scent makes it wonderful for meditation by centering the mind and balancing the Chakras (namely the Root and Sacral Chakras). Or when used in combination with oils like Marjoramand Grapefruit, it can help ease anxious feelings by providing warmth and comfort. Patchouli can be used topically to help minimize the appearance of stretch marks or soothe dry and inflamed skin. It can even be applied to the scalp to reduce flakiness. Before you get your day started, add Patchouli to homemade deodorant for its anti-fungal and antiseptic properties and to fight unpleasant aromas. At the end of the day, add a couple drops to a diffuser, light up a candle, or sink into a fizzy bath, and get some much needed tension relief to ease you into slumber. Patchouli is a great friend to have throughout the day!
