You may be asking yourself, what does it mean to substitute essential oils? When using individual oils or concocting specially crafted blends, you may find that you don’t have an essential oil that you originally intended to use. Rather than scrapping your plans or making a mad dash to the market, there’s a good chance that you’re able to use a different essential oil. The essential oil that you exchange generally depends on whether you’re using it for aromatic or therapeutic purposes, although sometimes substitutions work for both.
