Gurjun Balsam
Found in India, the gum and resin of Dipterocarpus turbinatus is steam distilled to produce an essential oil that’s sweet yet peppery. A middle note oil, Gurjun Balsam blends well with Black Pepper, Ginger, and Patchouli. 

Looking to stimulate your heart or increase blood pressure? Gurjun Balsam is just the oil for the job! This oil is a wonder for helping with respiratory concerns such as mild asthma, bronchitis, and chronic coughing. To ease these you can try adding a couple drops to an inhaler or diffuser. For topical application, this replenishing oil helps soothe minor eczema and other skin irritations. For these benefits, combine with Patchouli and make into a luxurious body butter. If you’re looking to substitute Gurjun Balsam, some good essential oils to try are Chamomile, Clary Sage, Eucalyptus, Juniper, and Lavender.
