Deep Cleaning with Essential Oils

by FabulousFrannie

It is that time of year where everyone is having fun and enjoying the great outdoors… and often bringing it indoors too. Cleaning up these messes can be fun—at least when it is done with all-natural cleaning agents!

Keeping bathroom surfaces clean is important not only for aesthetic purposes, but for your health as well. Dirty bathrooms often contain germs and bacteria that can make you and your family feel icky. Additionally, using all-natural cleaning products can help eliminate or reduce unpleasant aromas, while leaving fresh ones in their place. It is beneficial to use all-natural cleaning products, because other cleaning supplies tend to contain chemicals and preservatives that can have harmful effects on you and the environment.

Essential oils are particularly valuable in homemade blends, as they contain properties that not only fend off harmful particles, but also have a pleasant aroma. Two essential oils that are particularly helpful in tidying up everyday messes and for special deep cleaning are Lemon (click here for a All-Purpose Cleaner) and Tea Tree (click here for a Toilet Bowl Cleaner).

If you have surfaces that need a little extra attention, here are some essential oils you should consider adding to homemade cleaners: Citrus Oils (particularly Grapefruit, Lemongrass, Orange), Eucalyptus, Lavender, Peppermint, Rosemary and Thyme.

If you are looking to use all-natural cleaning products, but do not want to create your own blends, try our line of Cleaners—they are designed for personal and household use. We currently offer a Multi-Surface Cleaner and Carpet Deodorizer to help keep your house fresh and tidy, and Foaming Hand Soap to make cleaning up fun for the whole family. Our Multi-Surface Cleaner can be used to clean toilets, showers and sinks, as well as many other surfaces. All Cleaning Products come in our Signature Scent, made with Lavender and Lemon essential oils.

Here is a recipe to help keep your toilet bowl fresh and clean.
