If you’re looking to learn about different essential oils, then you’re in the right place! Read below to find out more about Cajeput essential oil and its many wonders.

Cajeput
Originally found in Vietnam, the leaves of Melaleuca leucadendron are steam distilled to create this fresh and camphorous oil that has a slight fruity note. A middle note oil, Cajeput combines well with Basil, Camphor, Chamomile, Lavender and Rosemary. It may be substituted for Camphor depending on the purpose of use. While it contains its own properties and uses, Cajeput comes from the same family as Tea Tree (Melaleuca alternifolia). How cool!

Among Cajeput’s many benefits is its ability to help loosen up phlegm, thus easing breathing. This oil can also help alleviate mild coughing and reduce inflammation, which is why we use it in our Easy Breathzy Blend. You can add a few drops to a diffuser or inhaler to experience these benefits throughout the day. (Check out other oils that can help you Disinfect and Protect yourself.) Cajeput is great to apply to minor fungal infections to the skin. Additionally, this oil has been used to help ease minor headaches, joint pain, and toothaches. Relieve minor aches in joints and muscles by adding a couple drops to unscented lotion or massage oil and gently massage into areas of discomfort. Cajeput can be used to help repel insects, particularly mosquitos. To use as a repellant, dilute with water and spray in the desired area, or add a few drops to a diffuser or homemade candle.
