Grapefruit Essential Oil and Alzheimer’s

by FabulousFrannie

November is National Alzheimer’s Awareness Month. Did you know, that in addition to having calming effects, Grapefruit is also beneficial in the fight against Alzheimer’s?

Grapefruit juice, which is chock-full of antioxidants, can help suppress the progression of the disease according to a study by Professor Alan Crozier of the University of Glasgow. Crozier says, “Phenolic antioxidants are bioactive compounds in fruits, vegetables and beverages that play an active role in the human body. By quenching free radicals they help maintain oxidative balance and are thought to play a key role in maintaining and improving health.” Although not a cure, making Grapefruit a part of your regimen has been shown to have phenomenal benefits. You can experience these effects by using a detoxifying foot soak every couple of weeks.
