Cubeb
The berries of Piper cubeba are steam distilled to produce an essential oil that has a strong, bitter, and woody aroma. This middle note oil blends well with Bergamot, Clary Sage, Clove, Coriander, Fennel, Frankincense, Geranium, Ginger, Grapefruit, Lavender, Juniper, Lemon, Lime, Mandarin, Sage, Sandalwood, and Ylang Ylang.
Soothe stress and tame tension with the calming nature of Cubeb essential oil. While it’s an uplifting oil, it’s not especially energizing, so it can be used in the evening. Cubeb is a great substitute for Black Pepper as it shares some of the properties, such as digestive support and pain relief, as well as has a more subdued aroma for those who find Black Pepper to be too strong. Cubeb may also be beneficial during cold and flu season as it can aid with minor chest and nasal congestion, throat infections, and coughing.
