Lemon Myrtle
The leaves of Backhousia citriodora are steam distilled to produce an oil with a fresh, sweet, and intensely Lemony aroma. Lemon Myrtle is a top not oil that blends well with Cedarwood, Jasmine Absolute, Lavender, Mandarin, Peppermint, Rose Bulgarian Absolute, Sandalwood, Tangerine, Tea Tree, and Ylang Ylang.
Lemon Myrtle is a powerful and diverse essential oil. It can be used as an antibacterial and antioxidant, making it wonderful in helping support the immune system during cold and flu season. You can add this oil to homemade cleaning supplies; combine with other purifying oils like Lavender and Tea Tree. When adding to topical or diffuser blends, be sure to highly dilute Lemon Myrtle (this means more water/carrier oil/lotion and less essential oil). If you have oily skin that’s prone to acne, you may find Lemon Myrtle beneficial. Using it in a diffuser or inhaler blend can also aid the respiratory system and breathing. Like the citrus oils that it blends so well with, Lemon Myrtle is uplifting and eases anxious feelings.
