The last several years, the words self-care and self-love have been used a lot. And for good reason. In the busy and often stressful times we’re living in, it’s important to take special care of our body, mind, and spirit.
Self-love is defined as regard for one’s well-being and happiness, and shouldn’t be confused with being narcissistic or self-important. It simply means that you care deeply about yourself, just as you would a loved one. One of the ways that you can achieve and maintain this love is through self-care.
One thing to remember about self-care is that it looks different for everyone. For some it means taking a week-long backpacking trip with no technology, while for others it means sitting down with some of their favorite snacks and having a movie day. It can mean trips to the spa or a walk with your dog. It’s activities that you do specifically to de-stress and recalibrate so you can take on the day ahead.
One way to let go and release tension is through a warm soak. We recommend using a soothing bath bomb (like Kids Peace & Calm or Lavender Rose) or bath salt (like Chakra or Sleep). Another option is reading a favorite book beside a warming soy candle or meltie (Anxious, De-Stress, and Fresh Air are great options).
