Tips & Tricks for a Healthy Back

by FabulousFrannie

Ouch! Whether you spend lots of time hunched over a computer or doing physical activity, it is hard to avoid neck and back pain. Here are some easy techniques to help minimize those little aches and pains.

  • Posture, posture, posture. Strive to sit and stand as straight as possible, hunching shoulders as little as possible!
  • Avoid lifting heavy objects as often as possible. Try getting help from someone or use a carrying device.
  • Stretch and do back-strengthening exercises regularly. These activities can help reduce muscle inflammation and tension.

Finding the time to stretch can be hard—but it is worth it. Yoga and other fitness classes can be great for incorporating stretching into your daily routine. But be sure to discuss your physical condition with the instructor or your medical provider first to determine if you need to skip or modify any moves to prevent further strain. As always, it is important to be in tune with your own health and body, knowing what is or is not appropriate for you to do!

To help alleviate minor strains and pains, you can incorporate Muscle Ice Blend into your regimen. This 100% pure essential oil blend contains Cinnamon, Clove, Eucalyptus, Lavender, Orange, Peppermint and Rosemary essential oils to combat poor circulation, burnout, tension and sore muscles.

For your convenience, we offer ready-to-use Roll-On and Massage Spritz, which are great to apply before physical activity like hikes or throughout the day at the office (it has the added benefit of having a rejuvenating aroma!). I recommend slipping into a nice hot bath and scooping in some Muscle Ice Bath Salts to melt away the day… and the tension.
