Reduce Inflammation with Olive Oil

by Isabel Corona

Cold pressed from the fruit of Olea europaea, Olive Oil is light to medium green in color. This oil has a faint hint of olive in its aroma and, when stored properly, has a shelf life of 12-24 months.

One of the more recognizable oils, Olive Oil is most famous for being widely used in Mediterranean cuisine. But this oil isn’t just wonderful for cooking! Olive Oil is a great carrier oil to use topically due to its calming and moisturizing properties. It’s rich in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, as well as antioxidants. All of these properties can help reduce inflammation! Olive Oil also has an abundance of vitamin E, which can help reduce the appearance of minor scarring and stretch marks. For those with acne, this oil can fight off bacteria and reduce blemishes. This oil is especially beneficial for those with dry or mature skin.
