A sense of security and stability is something for which we all strive. Sometimes it can feel like we’re using every last bit of energy to take care of life’s essentials. What can we do to help feel more afloat?
Having a balanced Root Chakra is a good place to start. This is the first of our seven chakras, and is fundamental to us feeling centered—without this one in shape, we can’t have the others. The Root Chakra influences our feelings of physical, mental, and emotional stability. When it’s in balance we experience healthier body image, relationships with friends and family, and inner peace. But when it’s not, we have a tendency to have a negative self-image, feel out of place or unwanted in social groups, and experience anxious feelings.
There are several ways to help balance this Chakra. Yoga is a particularly beneficial practice, both mentally and physically. Some poses you can try are Lotus, Warrior I, and Bridge. Essential Oils can be useful as well, either in tandem or separately from yoga practice.
