Essential Oils for Hair Growth

by FabulousFrannie

Healthy, luscious locks, are what we’re all looking for right? After sun and styling product exposure, hair is often left dry and brittle, ready to break at any moment. But no need to worry… here are a few essential oils and one carrier oil that will help replenish hair and stimulate growth.

Rosemary
This oil not only has a delightfully fresh aroma, it also contains lots of antioxidants that help fight free radicals that damage hair follicles and prevent hair growth. Rosemary is a powerful stimulant and promotes improved blood circulation to hair follicles. Rosemary’s other properties include antibacterial and anti-inflammatory, which help protect the scalp from dandruff and acne, conditions that hinder healthy hair and may contribute to hair loss.

Carrot Seed
This oil is a great ally in hair health and regrowth. Carrot Seed contains nutrients like vitamins A and E that help nourish hair, while detoxifying the follicles and scalp of harmful particles. This oil also has the added benefit of helping to regulate hormones and promoting good blood circulation.

Cypress
This oil is beneficial to add to hair blends due to its ability to help promote blood flow to hair follicles. Cypress also helps strengthen the grasp the scalp has on follicles. This oil may aid in reducing greasy appearance of hair.

Hair Blend
This special blend of pure essential oils helps reduce split ends, restore moisture and leave hair healthy, strong and protected from harsh chemicals and heat (including sun exposure and hair styling products like curling irons). Hair Blend is formulated with Rosemary, Lavender and Chamomile essential oils to help promote healthy, shiny hair and stimulate growth.

Argan
Like Carrot Seed, Argan promotes hair growth due to the fact that it contains vitamin E, which has antioxidants that helps make hair healthier, stronger and softer. This carrier oil also helps moisturize the scalp, reducing the likelihood of dandruff. Most people can use this powerful oil, as it is non-irritating. You can either apply this oil individually or combine it with essential oils to create an even more nutrient-packed blend.

Other carrier and essential oils for hair strength and growth: Almond, Castor, Chamomile, Clary Sage, Helichrysum, Lavender, Peppermint and Thyme.

Here is a recipe to help strengthen hair and promote better growth.

Do you wash this treatment out? Leave overnite, then wash out? I have added Rosemary to shampoos. Used coconut oil and a few other oils. Had to rinse out.

The best way to use this treatment is to let it soak into your hair and roots overnight. You can apply it before bedtime and rinse it out in the morning with your regular shampoo routine.
