If you’re looking to learn about different essential oils, then you’re in the right place! Read below to find out more about Cistus essential oil and its many wonders.
Cistus
Cistus ladaniferus is steam distilled to produce an essential oil that’s strongly herbaceous and resinous with sweet honey-like undertones. This base note oil blends well with Bergamot, Chamomile, Clary Sage, Cypress, Frankincense, Juniper, Lavender, Patchouli, Pine, Sandalwood, and Vetiver.
Cistus has been used since ancient times to help heal wounds. This essential oil can be applied topically to help with oily and acne-prone skin. If you’re looking to make homemade perfume, it’s a great fixative and base for blends. Another benefit of Cistus is its soothing aroma that can ease stress and trauma associated with loss and grief. It’s a grounding oil that may be used before and during meditation (combine with other tranquil oils like Frankincense and Patchouli). Cistus also helps support the respiratory system. Furthermore, the Moroccans have long used Cistus tea to keep the mouth healthy.
