We generally think of Pine during the holiday season, but you may be surprised to learn that it’s beneficial throughout the year.
Although pine trees most likely originated in either Austria or Russia, they can now be found all over the world. Some of their many health benefits are the ability to protect against environmental threats, clear normal mucus and phlegm, boost the immune system, and protect your home and body from a wide variety of invaders.
Pine is particularly helpful for treating many different skin conditions, especially dry skin and mild acne. It helps with these conditions by fighting free radicals that prevent healthy skin.
Pine acts as a great mild pain reliever because it helps with inflammation, pain and redness. To relieve mild muscle discomfort, you can either use my bath salt or you can create your own version using the recipe below. Either way, you’ll feel relief almost instantly!
I Pine for You Bath Crystals
- 1 1/2 c. Sea Salt
- 1 1/2 c. Epsom Salt
- 5 drops Pine Essential Oil
- 1 Glass Pint Jar
In a glass bowl mix your salts together. Add the oil 5 drops at a time, mixing well after each addition. Add mixture to warm, running bath water and enjoy!
